About Us

The Location Group of Companies comprises a number of private development and investment companies, owned principally by two longstanding stakeholders,  Roy Richardson and  Mark Weipers.  More recently,  Chris Davies has been introduced as a further stakeholder in a number of opportunities.

The two longstanding stakeholders bring approximately 65 years of real estate experience to the task of conceptualising and completing quality new development and refurbishment projects.  The wide ranging development activities undertaken during that time has created a wealth of expertise, knowledge and industry relationships that enables the Group to provide a professional service to clients requiring property solutions in our ever changing economic environment.

The Group was established in 1972 by Mr. Richardson and focused its attention at that time solely on residential new builds / refurbishments across the inner city suburbs of Auckland, New Zealand.  Over time, the Group's focus was widened with the successful completion of a number of smaller commercial / industrial refurbishments both in Auckland, and in the upper North Island cities of Hamilton and Tauranga.

Following Mark Weipers joining the Group in 1992, the Group has progressively increased the scale and extent of its commercial / industrial transactions to the point that today, it is well known in the marketplace for completing quality greenfields and refurbishment projects, many of which involve a change of use, with strata title final ownership.  Complementing this, the Group's previous experience in terrace housing and high rise residential projects is now being channelled into creating exciting and innovative, mixed use communities.

Currently, the Group operates primarily in the following market segments:

• Industrial / commercial refurbishment / add value.
• New development (both commercial / industrial and mixed use) where an unfulfilled and/or tenant driven demand has been identified.
• Retention of single or multiple tenancy "renters" with some inherent and unrealised development potential.
• Packaging of larger opportunities for on and offshore Investors and Fund Managers.
• Short term trading of undervalued property assets.
• Joint venturing of development opportunities with incumbent landlords.

The Group's geographical focus is within the metropolitan area of Auckland, New Zealand, although opportunities have been pursued, and will be considered, in the alternate major metropolitan catchments of Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch.
